Straight knurling is best for a simple grip, whereas diamond knurling is more aggressive and ideal for applications that require a stronghold. Unidirectional knurling is used in applications where the grip must be in one direction only. Crossed knurling is ideal for stability, while concentric knurling is required for uniform grip.
